Technical reconstruction of a clinical trials storehouse of Synergy Research Group (total area: 180 square meters; address: Moscow, Ochakovo Highway, 16) was completed on March 14. Synergy Research Group is one of just a few contract research organizations of Russia, which has at its disposal a specialized storehouse for storage of clinical samples and materials. The storehouse created two and a half years ago currently caters for about twenty studies.
Since a large-scale reconstruction was launched at the end of last year, new equipment has been installed, including Systemair (Sweden) ventilation plants, QUALITAIR (England) precision air conditioners, as well as air distributors produced by Systemair (Sweden) and DEC (USA). The project has involved application of domestically manufactured and foreign-made equipment, fittings and materials certified as compliant with the Russian Federation standards: thermal insulation for air ducts (Penofol, ISOVER, and ROCKWOOL), Muller steel and copper pipelines, as well as K-flex heat insulation materials for cold supply pipelines.
Technological solutions and design parameters for selection of equipment comply with Russian construction standards and regulations: “Heating, ventilation and air conditioning” (SNiP 41-01-2003); “Industrial buildings” (SNiP 2.09.02-85); “Fire safety of buildings and structures” (SNiP 21-01-97); “Storage buildings” (SNiP 2.11.01-85); “Noise protection” (SNiP 23-03-2003); “Construction climatology” (SNiP 23.01-99); “Thermal protection of buildings” (SNiP 23-02-2003).
The storehouse reconstruction was successfully completed in March of this year; here, it is worth noting that the storehouse has never stopped operating for a single minute in the course of reconstruction.
Besides, the storehouse was equipped with new refrigerators – Sanyo (Japan) – for storing samples at temperatures from -30ºC to +5ºC with integrated control systems; temperature and humidity inside the storehouse are being controlled by the Micofor electronic system 24 hours a day.
The storehouse employees are highly-qualified pharmacists with a long record of work at storage facilities servicing clinical trials. The key principle of their activities is rigorous observance of quality standards and SOPs (standard operational procedures) developed by SynRG in strict compliance with international requirements to such storage facilities.
Subject to diverse customers’ needs, logistics and accounting procedures for relevant studies may be adapted to the sponsor’s requirements. The clinical storehouse of Synergy Research Group makes possible a detailed accounting of any complexity level for flows of specimens, laboratory materials and documents, filing of documents according to the sponsor’s needs. The storehouse has its own motor transport fleet for delivery of samples and materials for studies to centers within the Moscow Region. The SynRG employees in charge of the samples delivery know many of responsible researchers in person, which raises reliability and accuracy of delivering samples and materials to any center.
